Session Notes 7.10.25 // Recoechi is "Golden"

Last month, we formally announced Recoechi's debut LP, FLAVAZ, and released the album's 1st single, "Giant Leaps" feat femdot.

Today we are back with the album's new single, "GOLDEN" ft. JazStarr. Produced by Renzell and Lonzo, "Golden" (and preludes such as A Taste and Act 1) firmly put Recoechi as one of the best rappers to come out of Chicago in the past 10+ years.

“Golden” is a vibe-soaked and sun-drunk record dripping with a kind of confidence that can only be earned from tough wins and even tougher losses. Recoe's story is one filled with a lot of bad decisions. He opens about those decisions throughout FLAVAZ, coming 8/14/25. Some of those decisions were forced upon him by circumstances, while others he made totally on his own. He's overdosed and woke up confused in a hospital bed. He's been arrested for selling weed to pay tuition and failed out of college. And he has overworked himself so badly that he's fallen asleep at the wheel and lived to tell about it... TWICE!

"Golden" is that solid ground. "Golden" is a calming voice. "Golden" is finding purpose, shaking sh*t off and whispering to yourself, "I'm good." Watch the video and stream the song via the link below.

FLAVAZ drops 8.14.25 and is undeniably a Chicago Hip Hop album. With production from Renzell (Chance the Rapper, Mick Jenkins, Isaiah Rashad, Vic Mensa, Saba, Noname, theMIND, femdot.) and additional production from C-Sick and others, Recoechi delivers top-tier storytelling across a sprawling record that introduces an entire arsenal of characters- each drawn from the depths of human experience. The project captures his upbringing on Chicago's Southeast Side, while also channeling the many styles born from the city to carve out a voice entirely his own. It's political, personal, about the streets, recovery, reflective - and ultimately about survival and self discovery.
