Raekwon gave me some of the best advice I’ve ever gotten in the music business, shit, maybe in my life. Back in 2010 we did a Closed Session and a Digital Freshness with Rae. While we were riding around Chicago in a Denali, Rae turned around from his middle passenger seat and said to me, “you fall off because you stop.” I’ve never forgotten that.

Back in 2010, Rae was a newly independent artist and coming off Only Built For Cuban Linx 2. He fully embraced the “blog era”, and was entering a new phase of his career in which he has released great music, and expanded into films, books, wine, and the cannabis industry. I did an extensive profile on Rae at the end of 2020 and detailed how he quietly became a legendary artist in his own right, not just a legend through association in the Wu-Tang Clan.

When it was time to restart Legend Conversation after Covid-19, the only guest I could think of was Raekwon The Chef. During our near hour interview, Rae talked about his love for Hip Hop, what he learned throughout his career, watching the Wu-Tang Hulu series, and much more.
